How often do I need to paint my home’s exterior?

Generally wood exteriors need to be repainted every 7 to 10 years. Vinyl and concrete don’t expand or contract like wood so their paint jobs will last longer.
I’m remodelling my home. Do I have the walls and trim painted before redoing the floors or after?

This will depend on the project and the extent of the floor refinishing. Refinished floors require curing time which could slow the overall project. Doing the floor first subjects the lower trim to the possibility of being nicked by a sander. Each way has there merits. Advancements in technology allow paints to already have low VOCs. Non-VOC paint can be requested for those with sensitivities.
